This $85.0 million project showcases the automotive industry through a world leading building that sets new benchmarks in state of the
art training spaces, automotive workshops and testing facilities. The building represents Stage 2 of a three stage development, firmly establishing a substantial campus environment within the urban infrastructure of Melbourne Docklands.
The building has been designed with high level
environmental performance benchmarks, building
on the success of the Stage 1 facility, with the aim
of achieving a 5 Star Green Star rating under the
newly established GBCA Education Tool. A range
of environmental solutions have been incorporated from the outset of the planning process, informing the design of the building. These solutions include a large array of rooftop PV cells, in-slab heating
and cooling system, generous use of exposed thermal mass and one of the first areas of green roof established within Melbourne.
