St Anne’s is a Catholic Primary School in a heavily treed area and takes great pride in its ‘bush’ setting. Our design celebrates this setting by making reference to nature in the canopy design of the roof, the vibrant timber patterned brick façade, and the use of natural colours.
The main entry space is defined by a striking double height volume and distinctive cross frame element, a subtle reference to the ideology of the school. The internal layout provides for a series of flexible learning spaces and open plan studios tailored for art activities and information technology. Individual learning spaces open into these shared collaborative areas and through careful planning, the layout also allows for a variety of ‘in between spaces’ able to be utilised by smaller groups and staff.
