The aim was to create a multi-functional building with a focal presence that incorporated a combination of teaching spaces and a confectionery laboratory.

Functionally, the spaces solved the complexity of disconnection in terms of acoustic separation, daylight penetration and the requirement of a raked floor for theatre seating.
