Gray Puksand was engaged by Cedar Woods Properties to design a new commercial office building in the heart of the Williams Landing Town Centre.
With the Town Centre still in an embryonic stage of its evolution, the appointment of a government tenant to the space signalled a true vote of confidence in the future growth of the region.
Incorporating the tenant’s very specific end user requirements was one of the main challenges faced. The design response was a versatile architecture that facilitates operational and security requirements through a flexible floor plate.
The primary architectural expression is a glazed feature facade which is manipulated to create interest. An innovative hi-tech building skin is molded to create a canopy as it pulls away from the building frontage.
The architectural treatment of the building is modulated through the Western frontage which provides a counterpoint to the main facade through articulated paneling integrating window elements.
Spanning four levels, the building design incorporates two levels of commercial office space and two levels of car parking alongside ground floor amenities. These amenities include an End of Trip facility and tenant gymnasium.
