Wood & Grieve Engineers (WGE) have consolidated their expanding Melbourne office with the completion of the interior fitout at Levels 23, 570 Bourke Street. This builds on the company’s relationship with Gray Puksand who designed the first stage of WGE’s headquarters on Level 22. Both stages of the project exemplify collaboration between consultants and the design intent to put WGE’s personality and skills as consulting engineers on show.
WGE’s open plan style of working is supported by retreat spaces including a library which is defined by a bold colour palette, acoustic treatments and a sense of intimacy that encourages more quiet behaviour, while breakout zones are the heart of the business. Key to the success of the breakout areas is the clever use of space which sees corridors doubling as spill-off collaboration spaces and double-duty pinboards.
