Innovation

We recognise the value of advanced technologies not only in enhancing our projects and client outcomes, but also in driving progress across our industry and the broader built environment.

We embrace digital design technologies.

Solving today’s complex challenges requires more than yesterday’s strategies. That’s why we’ve invested in a dedicated team of digital design and technology specialists who work across our practice to lead Gray Puksand’s evolution in an increasingly digital landscape.

Our National Technology Team brings together deep expertise across a range of platforms and tools, including Building Information Modelling (BIM), 3D printing, laser scanning, site digitisation, data management, and computational design. We are also taking a leading role in the integration of emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and generative design, into architectural practice.

Historically, design challenges have been resolved through human intuition and manual effort. Today, computational strategies enable us to complement that intuition—enhancing the design process through rapid, iterative generation, evaluation, and refinement of multiple design options. All our designers have access to a suite of automation tools and custom scripts, empowering them to unlock the full potential of each project.

At Gray Puksand, researching, evaluating, and deploying the latest AEC technologies—as well as developing custom in-house solutions—is a key priority. Equally important is the ongoing training and support of our designers and project teams to ensure these tools are used effectively, driving successful outcomes for our clients.

While Autodesk Revit is our primary authoring platform, we maintain a platform-agnostic approach, selecting the most appropriate tools to meet each project’s specific needs. By reverse-engineering client and project requirements, we create tailored workflows that align technology with project goals—maximising efficiency and performance.

The AEC industry has entered a new era where digital design technologies and computational methods are fundamental to efficient production and documentation. With real-time data sharing, enhanced coordination, and cloud-based collaboration, we are able to operate as a unified project team—connected across disciplines, organisations, and geographic locations.
