Al Siraat College is a rapidly growing independent Islamic College, located in the northern growth areas of Melbourne.

The new Technology, Engineering, Art, Maths and Science (TEAMS) building was completed in 2017. This two-storey specialist learning facility reflects Gray Puksand’s deep understanding of modern pedagogies, as well as their ability to work collaboratively with schools and their communities. Positioned at the centre of the site, this building will act as a connector to future school buildings. As such, it has been designed to be in conversation and direct physical connection to planned learning neighbourhoods.

Internally, the design utilises a mixture of adaptable learning spaces and specialist wet and dry labs for technical studies. All spaces are designed to accommodate a range of activities, from graphic design and textiles, to engineering classes and maths. The dynamic floorplans over each level offer a range of indoor and outdoor informal learning spaces, while the colour palette has been kept intentionally minimal – working with greys, greens, whites and light timbers. High ceilings and open walkways create light, bright, uplifting spaces in tune with modern learning.

“It’s at the heart of the campus masterplan, and it is about accessibility, transparency, and connectivity, and it’s been created to promote opportunity for interdisciplinary collaboration between art, science, technology, maths, food.”
