Designed with a strong focus on wellbeing, the space fosters a dynamic and collaborative environment through flexible work solutions.
Security remains paramount, with the design adhering to EU technical standards and the European External Action Service (EEAS) security policy. A single, high-security entrance—built to Zone 4 security standards—ensures controlled access. Upon arrival, visitors are welcomed into a refined reception and waiting area before accessing key spaces, including private offices for the Head of Delegation and a state-of-the-art, audio-secure conference room accommodating up to 40 delegates.
Additional soundproofed meeting and quiet rooms complement the open-plan workspace, offering a balance between collaboration and focused work. The use of colour and texture creates a sociable and dynamic atmosphere.
Sustainability is at the core of the design, reflecting the EU’s deep-rooted dedication to environmental stewardship and cultural diversity. This ethos ensures a vibrant, inclusive, and forward-thinking workplace. The building’s perimeter has been strategically utilised to flood the workspace with natural light, enhancing energy efficiency and promoting an uplifting atmosphere. Staff benefit from a seamless connection to the external environment, reinforcing a sense of openness and engagement with nature.
Biophilic design principles are embedded throughout, integrating greenery that improves air quality, reduces stress, and minimises noise pollution. These elements work collectively to enhance concentration and productivity, creating an optimal environment for innovation and collaboration.
This workspace stands as a testament to the EU’s vision—where sustainability, security, and human-centric design converge to create a workplace that is both inspiring and functional.
