The Police Association of Victoria’s new headquarters, situated adjacent to the Melbourne Cricket Ground, emerged from the adaptive reuse of a former housing industry association building. This project includes a comprehensive array of facilities, ranging from a welcoming customer engagement floor, reception, media centre, and consultation suites to secure parking, end-of-trip amenities, a gym, and cutting-edge training facilities. A staff entertainment floor, featuring a commercial kitchen, BBQ, and outdoor terrace, completes the offering.

The overarching vision was to consolidate services, fostering open discussions among members on industrial, legal, wellbeing, and Workcover matters within a secure and private environment. The design achieves this by integrating passive, active, and collaboration zones, delineated by carefully selected colours and finishes. Interconnecting stairs facilitate seamless transitions between office zones.

A dedicated function and event floor crowns the building. The rooftop terrace, transformed from a utilitarian plant area, serves as an open space for relaxation and communal gatherings. Dynamic lighting integrated into the façade allows the Police Association of Victoria to showcase its headquarters through light projection, eliminating the need for traditional signage and branding.

Close collaboration between Gray Puksand and TPAV, seamlessly translating the core values—Protect, Support, and Advance—into the built environment. Throughout the five levels, interior spaces are infused with muted vibrant hues and touches of biophilia, creating an inspiring atmosphere that resonates with the essence of the Police Association of Victoria.
